UR-WG biweekly telcon 2011-11-02
Present: Andrea, David W., Mike, Ralph, John G., Jon
Minutes:
- which kind of document should be written?
- Looked at http://www.gridforum.org/documents/GFD.152.pdf
- Could be either a Community Practice Document (CPD) or Recommendation Track Document (RTD)
- CPU accounting document in the direction of CPD exists already
- StAR is closer to a CPD
- Consensus at OGF33 to have a new UR document with profiles for CPU and storage - (that could be more suitable as
a RTD?)
- StAR document is close to finished document - what is missing to convert it to a CPD?
- To be investigated (who should do it?)
- getting StAR out should be top priority
- should TimeDuration or ValidDuration go in the final definition of UR?
- how should be decided? Any idea or written rule from OGF?
- Best to put arguments for and against the controversial topics on wiki (one thread per topic), have a couple of
iterations of discussion and then vote if still needed
- Andrea and Jon should come with arguments for TimeDuration and ValidDuration and put in wiki (two threads)
- will do it within next phone meeting
- and how about space allocation?
- John will put in arguments for this in wiki
- How should work progress?
- put everything in gridforge (minutes etc.)
- David will find out the process on changing chairs of the group and about the gridforge
- Will have meetings regularly 15:00 CET, same channel
Actions:
- Investigate what is needed to convert StAR to a community practice document - who?
- Create discussion threads (with pro's and con's)
- for TimeDuration - Andrea
- for ValidDuration - Jon
- Space allocation - John G.
- Find out and distribute on mailing list what to do with new chairs and gridforge access - David W.
