Req. Nb ID Description Source Areas Dependencies Status Date
NF10 152 Evolutionary aspect of existing specifications (marketing efforts, bad community reputation if OGF standards are unstable).
Any new specification should be result of evolution of previous specification.
E.g. the scope and orientation of a spec should not change dramatically to the previous one, e.g. conceptual backward compatibility is a must.
NSF 08-571 Reuse Specs Conflicts with NF9 Agreed YES 2010-05-10

Andrew Grimshaw on 2010-03-20

  • Propose requirement with title  'Evolutionary aspect of existing specifications (marketing efforts, bad community reputation when OGF standards instable)'

Etienne Urbah's position on 2010-04-07

  • For clarity and positive thinking, I suggest to change the original title to
'Specifications of the Execution Service SHOULD be designed and presented as an evolution of existing specifications, in order to ease OGF marketing efforts and improve OGF community reputation concerning stable standards'
  • Anyway, I vote FOR this requirement
