Req. Nb ID Description Source Areas Dependencies Status Date
LB7 40 In terms of queries, the Logging and Bookkeeping functionality SHOULD support query languages, e.g. at least one complex query language like XPath, XQuery, in order to obtain the activity logs, etc PGI Logging and Bookkeeping LB1 Open 2010-04-29

Etienne Urbah on 2010-03-26

  • Propose requirement with title
'In terms of queries, the Logging and Bookkeeping functionality SHOULD support Xpath 1.0 and MAY support additional query languages such as XQUERY, SQL, sparql and custom defined ones (for example: python-based)'

Etienne Urbah's position on 2010-04-09

  • This requirement introduces complexity inside the grid component(s) implementing the Logging and Bookkeeping functionality
  • Therefore, this requirement is NOT likely to be achievable by a grid service having already performance requirements
  • Supporting Xpath 1.0 is one thing, and I vote FOR it
  • But supporting additional query languages looks like a framework accepting plug-ins, and I am afraid of such great complexity (do we really need that ?)

Morris, Balazs and Etienne on 2010-04-21

  • We generalized the title because requirement is needed (but no specifics yet)
'In terms of queries, the Logging and Bookkeeping functionality SHOULD support query languages'
  • Source = PGI
  • Spreadsheet ID = 40

Amsterdam meeting on 2010-04-29
