• Propose requirement with title  'In order to permit efficient Log analysis and Security audit, a grid infrastructure MUST provide a Logging and Bookkeeping functionality (without real time requirements) which consolidates Activity logs at the grid level from various logging systems, and keeps Activity logs even after Activities have finished'

• Log analysis and Security audit really require medium and long term persistence of information concerning Activities, even already finished
• Persistence of this information MUST be secured, but retrieval of this information does NOT have to be very quick   (If information is not available immediately for any reason, it still can be retrieved later as soon as it is secured)
• The requirement means that this medium and long term Logging and Bookkeeping functionality MUST be provided by grid infrastructures
• Therefore, this requirement is NOT likely to be achievable by a grid services (such as the Execution Service) managing transient entities
• Nevertheless, I vote FOR this requirement

• The title was changed WITHOUT studying the points presented above on 2010-04-09, and the new title has perverted the original requirement :
  The original requirement was NOT to stress the generation of log records by the Execution Service, but to stress the need of a functionality securing the PERSISTENCE of log records, and access to log records, even after Activities are finished
• Therefore, I strongly require to study following improved title  :
  'In order to permit efficient Log analysis and Security audit, some Logging and Bookkeeping functionality MUST secure persistence at the grid level of Activity logs from various logging systems and MUST permit Client access to these Activity logs, even after Activities have finished'
