PGI Workshop @ OGF25

Goal

The workshop should be mainly for disseminate our efforts and raise awareness of the group. It also should clarify how PGI is embedded in the further standards landscape and what the relationship is between PGI and GIN. Work towards a demonstration of PGI in action at Supercomputing 2009 at least demonstrating secure data and job interoperability (i.e. profile 1).

Session 1 - PGI General Information

Presentation: The PGI Overview - Introduction and Goals (~20 min, Balazs Konya)
- Historic information about the GIN spin-off activitiy, meetings, GIN, different OGSA approach
Presentation: The PGI Use Cases - How Grid applications benefit from PGI (~20 min, Morris Riedel)
- HTC/HPC interoperability on resources
Presentation: The PGI reference model (~20 min, Morris Riedel)
- PGI core elements and ideas for tuning & missing links & re-definitions & add-ons

Session 2 - PGI Middleware perspectives

Why do we need PGI?: ARC perspective (~15 min, Balazs Konya)
Why do we need PGI?: gLite perspective (~15 min, Moreno Marzolla)
