Artifact artf5648 : Disk space resources
Tracker: [CLOSED] JSDL v1.0 Errata
Title: Disk space resources
Description:
I'm not sure how to perform any kind of match making based on the resources IndividualDiskSpace, and similarly, the
DiskSpace element of the FileSystem element.

For both, is the amount of space:

1. The size of the volume
2. The number of free bytes on the volume
3. The number of free bytes available to the user on the volume.

If 3, how is it proposed to make this calculation efficiently.

For IndividualDiskSpace, is this:

1. An aggregation of all locally mounted volumes?
2. Does it include network volumes?
3. Is it calculated before or after FileSystem mounts happen (thus affecting the number if network volumes are also
considered).

Because of these questions, it's not clear to me that this element has any use (given that I can be specific about
volume disk requirements using FileSystem).

For TotalDIskSpace added

"across all resources" similarly to other Total* elements

and

"This element specifies the maximum unconfigured (raw) total capacity of disk space. There is no requirement that the disk space is provided a single
physical or logical disk."

Do similar addition for TotalDiskSpace

  Comment:
- For DiskSpace added that it refers to 'free' space

- For IndividualDiskSpace added the following text:

This element specifies the maximum unconfigured (raw) capacity of a single disk on the resource. For a resource to satisfy this requirement it MUST
have at least one disk (physical or otherwise) that can satisfy this requirement. There is no requirement, however, that a resource only has a single
disk; or that, if multiple disks are present, all the disks on a resource match this require-ment.

  Comment:
IndividualDiskSpace means the local (raw) disk space (unconifgured) --- if there multiple disks this matches with the biggest one.
RAID volume is one example for multiple disks treated as one.
Logical disk is also ok; don't care how this is provided from the job's point of view.

Ideally we could enumerate per disk -- future work

What happens in the multi-disk case for the IndividualDiskSpace?

  Comment:
For FileSystem DiskSpace it should be the amount free on the volume (2). (A quota system might allow for the usable amount by the user).

IndividualDiskSpace means the local (raw) disk space (unconifgured).

We need to refine definitions.
