doubts about appropriateness
I am not sure if this is the right document in the right place.

First I stumbled over the fact that an individual (not a GGF WG) submitted a document having the word "specification" in
the title. (if it is indeed a specification, then it must not be an information document, and it must be submitted by a
 GGF WG).

Reading the abstract, the document describes messages exchanged by Globus pre-web services. So why is this submitted as
a GGF document?
Wouldn't this be proper Globus toolkit documentation, or a Globus tech report (if such a thing exists)?
AD ruling on appropriateness
I believe the question of "specifications" which are not intended to go through full Recommendations process has been
resolved (in the context of the publication of the MyProxy doc as GFD.54) and is appropriate to an INFO/EXP document.
Thilo, let's resolve this in person at the GFSG meeting.

As the cognizant AD's, Olle and I have been strongly encouraging Von to publish in this forum (and are grateful he's
done so).

Re: doubts
I have no problem changing the term "specification" if desired.

I submitted this because I understood GGF was interested in publishing documents that capturing descriptions of existing
Grid protocols, even if those protocols were not the result of a GGF standards process.

If this is not the case, I'm happy to retract the document and publish it via other means. But I believe GGF needs to
make a decision on this point as I'm getting mixed messages.
