• if you have a queue and you submit a job to this queue with a certain request for CPUTime and if the queue can submit to different types of machines, then the given CPUTime is not homogenous

• request for trying to introduce a scaling factor in order to provide to the job the same computing power

• Torque was modified so that the deamon in the worker node reports a normalized CPUTime to the batch system

• Amazon EC2 uses the concept of EC2 Computing Unit,

Proposal:

• in ComputingShare we should put the CPUTime in s as configured in the batch system (no implied changes)
• in ExecutionEnvironment, we add a scaling factor
