Why does EDGeS need OGF PGI ?

The goal of the EDGeS project is to bridge Desktop Grids with Service Grids.
We want to AVOID implementing 1 SPECIFIC plugin for EACH Service Grid.
On the contrary we would like to use standards defined by OGF, and verified / improved / tuned by OGF PGI for ALL Service Grids.
