This document serves as the workbook for the Grid File System Architecture Design. This document serves as the 
summarization of the current work and status of the GGF Grid File System Working Group (GFS-WG) in defining the 
Architecture of the Grid File Systems. This document discusses: what is a GFS, its requirements, its role in grid 
computing and data grids, its components, its interfaces and issues faced in defining the standards for GFS. The 
discussions from this workbook are based on the GFS Telecons and meetings in realizing a GFS architecture that can lead 
the way to data grid standards.

This document evolves with the discussions in the GFS-WG. Content from this document will make it to the standard
