Mass Update

Published as GFD.55 27 November, 2005.

Sorry for my delay in getting this through
the final review.  I only made a few small formatting
changes, and updated the header to reflect
the GFD # 055.  This will now be published.

Thanks very much to the authors/editors for
effort on this document.

A new version of the  survey document has been uploaded.
We have pushed the list of authors at the end of document.
We have inserted corresponding author in foot as what asked
remove draft references when possible and replace them by publish 
technical papers.
Several modifications, as suggested by Joe Touch, have been made
and new references as aggreed by the community, added.

Email follow-up sent September 25.  Updated to the
correct chair for the new GGF structure (Cees de Laat,
in the "Infrastructure" area).

We will finish the document for end of july, integrating several new
suggestions (new ref, editing,...) proposed by people who sent their comments directly to me.
I will forward all the message to you and Cees de Laat.

This document has undergone my review.  Other than a suggestion
about trimming the Author list, which I am emailing to the
editors, this document is ready for public comment.   I made
a few minor formatting changes to the re-uploaded document.

The due date for this document's public comment period
is Tuesday, May 14.

This draft has completed the necessary steps prior to
being made available for public comment.  Authors, 
working group / research group chairs, and Area
Directors should encourage individuals to participate
in the public comment process and should announce
the public comment availability to appropriate
communities and groups.

Public comments can be viewed and submitted via
the GridForge Editor pages (see Forums) or:

http://www.ggf.org/documents

Public comments play an important part in the advancement
of a GGF draft and publication as a document in the 
GGF document series.

An active public comment period strengthens the case
that the document is a useful and desired work product
for some community of consumers.

This document is now in initial editor review.  I will respond
shortly with some feedback and suggestions about
moving it through the document publication process.
