Meeting on 2009-02-06, 16:00 (CET) Notes
ad 1) Review of actions/tasks, including follow up of last week security
discussion.
no comments on the minutes from the last call
Moreno: It is not possible to have a single profile document so we have to define multiple profiles (two).
Middlewares could implement both profiles (SAML, proxies).
Proposal from Etienne:
have two profiles:
- X.509, one identity
- SAML assertions, several identities
2) Discussion about the proposal for the new ChangeActivityStatus BES
operation: http://forge.ogf.org/sf/go/doc15412?nav=1
Basically in BES interface the possibility for changing the sate of one or more activities
no terminate activity
Propsal of Aleksandr:
Define a change activity status in BES -> uploaded document (Job Management - change activity status for BES)
Comments on the Doc:
Mark: it would be sufficient and ok to enable the change activity and implement it in GENESIS but they would never use
it.
Moreno:
in gLite they have some use cases for having a suspend operation, which is used (as the name implies) for supending
running activities
Andrew:
extending the spec?
Aleks:
it is actually implemented in ARC
maybe it would be useful to have it in other middlewares as well
allow multiple states
Moreno:
suspending a bunch of jobs sounds reasonable for multiple activities
Andrew:
idea:
in BES: operation in a container
Does it make mor sense to define activity port type?
set of substates
The framework is provided by the BES. But we can extend it.
3) Discussion about the proposal for the new JobPurge BES operation:
http://forge.ogf.org/sf/go/doc15414?nav=1
terminate activity operation to allow older clients to interact with the interface
add extension to the existing port type
two ways:
- different port type
- new version of port type (new pgi-port type??)
The meeting was stopped earlier because of connection problems of serveral participants.
The group should focus this week on the security profile!
Continue the discussion next week on the security profile.
4) AOB
