Action for Cecile: Clarify the current focus of OREP with Ann Chervenak
Review Vijay's paper:
Here are some points that came up:
* There was discussion on whether the semantics of the service be modified to facilitate the resource sharing
between numerous publication/subscriptions. To this effect our scope is limited to the modifications to the service
interface/semantics.
* The terms analyst, subscriber etc in Vijay's documents should be aligned with the DAIS notions and terminology
* Consider (publication) resources that can repeat the outcome of the publications - replication, sensor archives
are very important examples.
* In some cases the INFO-D analyst may create the publication and may/may not have control over the subscription
process. This is different from the DAIS scenario where the analyst has total control of the access and dissemination
parts.
* In the absence of adequate mechanisms to facilitate discovery of the available publication, the service will
play a central part in facilitating sharing of publications. It was recommended that the service should allow
introspection on future queries - provided that the analyst controls the visibility.
* Life time management should be extended to deal with disconnects and failures.
Discussion of Vijay's paper will continue next time.
Comments and corrections are welcome
