Job Templates
By: Peter Troeger - troeger

What are the default values for the different attributes? For example, is there something like an "UNDEFINED" job state
or an "UNDEFINED" submission time? It is also not clear enough which attributes should be set, at least, in order to
get a valid job template. There is only one REQUIRED statement for the drmaa_start_time parameter - such a declaration
would be helpful for all job template attributes.

 (1) It is my understanding that REQUIRED merely means
any DRMAA implementation must support this attribute.
That sentence is no longer needed. It must be a leftover
before DRMAA attributes were kept separately under
Mandatory/Optional attributes.

(2) I think there is agreement in DRMAA WG that in
case no default behaviour is specified with an attribute
the behaviour is implementation dependent.

(3) Actually not a single attribute is really required. One may
question the usefullness of a job template without a
drmaa_remote_command, but DRMAA should not forbid
possible use cases where lack of
drmaa_remote_command mght be intend rather than
an error.
