Larry Flon (ISI) and Ellen Stokes (IBM) have done an
outstanding job writing the Job Submission Information
Model (JSIM) document.  Andrea Westerinen (Cisco) is
also to be commended for her invaluable support.

This document represents a first step in what will
become a series of steps in a collaborative effort
between GGF and DMTF Working Groups towards a goal
of grid-enabling the DMTF\'s Common Information Model
(CIM), widely accepted throughout the computer industry
as a standard information model.

One of the primary points of interest at the GGF11
conference was an emphasis on collaboration between
standards bodies, such as between GGF and DMTF, and
the JSIM document is a reflection of such collaboration.
The DMTF has already included the JSIM specification in
their CIM 2.8 release.  It is essential, in the spirit
of this collaboration, that the JSIM specification is
adopted as a GGF informational document.

It should be noted that the JSIM addition cannot
stand alone as a grid-enabling modification to the
CIM specification.  Many missing pieces must be
discovered and conjoined to grid enable CIM, and
every GGF Working Group can influence the modification
of the CIM specification for their particular areas of
interest.

A lack of comments on the JSIM document, during its
30-day public-comment period, should not be weighed as
a measure of its significance, or lack thereof.  This
is a significant document.  I recommend its adoption.
