this sequence diagram is a simplified description of the job submission process via the gLite WMS (Workload Management Service). The focus is on concepts useful for modeling GLUE. The concepts defined in OGSA architectures are also mentioned as related to various gLite components or sub-components. The use case is the simple job submission with no file staging nor constraints on data are defined.

Actions 1. and 2. are run asynchronously from job scheduling; the glite WMS continuously update a cache of the descriptions of Grid resources in order to have a faster matchmaking process.

Note: the sequence diagram is yet to be validated with WMS developers
