Discussion on StorageShare and StorageEnvironment

Q.1 Do we need a separate entity for attributes in StorageEnvironment?

Advantages of StorageEnvironment as separated: 1. avoid duplications of attributes (not a big advantage since there few attributes) 2. being able to show free/used space for each environment (the StorageCapacity)

Q.2 What about if we have multiple VO's mapped to the same StorageShare? They compete for same size... but have different used space

Flavia: in StorageCapacity, I would make TotalSize and UsedSize mandatory Free and Reserved probably optional (see document where we defined it)

Q.3 Why to publish Path in both StorageShare and in MappingPolicy?

Q.4 VO's would like to be able to define multiple paths to the same share in order to have a way to divide their files; how do we represent multiple paths?

• no use cases yet, is a wish from VO's
• it can be somewhat already handled if each path refers to a different mapping policy

Q.5 Do we need an assocation between StorageCapacity and StorageEnvironment?

Sergio: from the experience of mapping GLUE2 to CNAF storage system, we feel useful to have this association; this is mainly for inventory on the free/used global space (regardless the VO) Paul: it could be useful to have both StorageCapacity to StorageResource and StorageCapacity to StorageEnvironment
