  • Date: May 9, Wednesday
  • Time: 1:30 ~ 2:15pm
  • Location: Exchange 4/5
  • Owner: Andrew Grimshaw
  • Dial-in: +1-866-599-4740, pass: 9621596
  • description
    • The OGSA-WG has been working on an “express” authentication profile, where “express” refers to the rapidity of decision making rather than performance. The objective is to define a set of interoperability settings in the authentication realm using existing standards and protocols. A series of discussions have occurred both in teleconferences and in the F2F in California in March. Two documents have been prepared: a use case document that motivates, and a DRAFT simple profile. We will discuss both.

  • Location: Exchange 4/5
  • Owner: Andrew Grimshaw
  • Dial-in: +1-866-599-4740, pass: 9621596
  • Description
    • The OGSA-EMS architecture was sketched out over three years ago. Since then the lowest level components, e.g., OGSA-BES, OGSA-ByteIO, RNS, have been developed, and higher level components, e.g., RSS, are under development. At this point it is time to tackle the OGSA “information services” problem. BES containers and other services have “resource properties”, “metadata”, “attributes”, or whatever you want to call them. What is needed is a standard place and mechanism to query over the attribute space. For example, services such as MDS in Globus, Collections in Legion, etc. In this session we will begin the discussion of how to attack this problem. We invite others, e.g., Info-D group members, to attend.
