  • Tool for validating compatibility and interoperability of Storage Resource Managers (SRMs) for heterogeneous storage systems

Storage Resource Managers (SRMs) are based on a common interface specification (http://sdm.lbl.gov/srm-wg). SRMs can have different implementations and services for the underlying storage systems. The purpose of the SRM testing tool is to check the compatibility and interoperability of SRMs according to the specification. The tool checks client-SRM adherence to the specification, as well as SRM-SRM remote copy capabilities. This tool is being used by the Open Science Grid (OSG) consortium, and the SRM-collaboration (see current results at: http://sdm.lbl.gov/srm-tester).

Demo related materials will be on http://sdm.lbl.gov/srm-tester/sc06

  • GIN Resource Testing Portal

There will be several demonstrations of the GIN Resource Testing Portal during the SC'06 conference. The GIN Resource Testing Portal provides access to and monitors the availability of the GIN VO resources.

During the demonstrations CHARMM (Chemistry at HARvard Molecular Mechanics) and MadCity traffic simulation workflows will be created, executed and monitored in the GIN Resource Testing Portal. Jobs of the workflows are utilising GRAM4 through the GEMLCA architecture on the TeraGrid, GRAM2 on the TeraGrid, the Open Science Grid and the UK NGS, and broker-based submission to EGEE sites.

The demonstrations will also cover the Grid Resource Monitoring capabilities of the portal showing the actual state of the GIN VO resources.

The GIN resource testing portal is available at: https://gin-portal.cpc.wmin.ac.uk:8080/gridsphere/gridsphere

Date and time of the demonstrations:

  • ANL booth: Tuesday Nov 14th 10:30 - 11:00 PGRADE/GEMLCA workflows to GRAM on multipleproduction grids
  • TeraGrid booth: Wednesday 15th 12:00 - 1:00 Workflow interoperability: Executing PGRADE/GEMLCA Workflows to GRAM4 and GRAM2 on Multiple Production Grids
  • EGEE booth: Wednesday 15th 10am Solving Grid interoperability between EGEE, TeraGrid, OSG, UK NGS and NorduGrid by the P-GRADE Grid portal at workflow level
  • Hungarian Grid Competence Centre booth: demos of the PGRADE/GEMLCA portals on demand
